So, you’ve decided to try network marketing. You’ve chosen your product carefully, or perhaps you were introduced to the opportunity by a friend or relative, which of course happens a lot in this kind of business. But now what? You know you have to find prospects to market your wonderful, one-of-a-kind product, but where do you start? Well, here are some easy tips to take the selling out of Network Marketing and really have some fun:
1. Don’t Follow the Old Rules!
If your think that network marketing has anything to do with calling all your friends and family members up and hounding them about your great, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, STOP RIGHT THERE! The key to remember is this: Networking is about simply sharing or passing information along that you think someone might be interested in. Think about how you talk about something you enjoyed recently; like a movie or a restaurant, or even a great pain reliever, would you dread sharing that information? Would you worry that they may never talk to you again? Absolutely not! So think about your product and why you like it and why someone you know, just may like it too! In other words, take the pressure off yourself, you’re not selling here, you’re simply talking and sharing. If they can use this business great, if not move on. At least you know you have mentioned it.
2. Always Concern Yourself with the Other Person:
No matter who you are talking to or meeting up with, you must always be concerned about their needs first. This is the only way you can build trust. and friendship. It is crucial in this business, as marketing is about establishing friendly relationships. So don’t worry about whether or not this individual will buy, sign up or try anything. He might not or he might, either way, your job is simply to have a nice easy conversation and possibly, eventually explain you’re products or opportunity to see if they match his needs or desires. If not, don’t worry, each time you are learning more and more about people and your business as well. Your family will still love you because you showed you care about them. Simply let them know you would like their opinion or help in sharing your product too.
3. Be Yourself and Relax!:
This is crucial in dealing with cold calls. Before making that call or visiting that office, start smiling and think about something funny. Remember, that the more relaxed and happy you are, the more confidence you will portray. You might just start out by simply letting them know you are giving out information on a new product that they might like to know about and if possible you would like to leave it or send it to them. If you have time, You may even want to tell them about how you benefited from the product and how you- with a lot of your associates, are simply getting the word out. People like to know that you are being honest and upfront with them and they will be more apt to respond in the same way.
