There’s no denying that time is one of our greatest assets. We need to value it and put it to good use. Whoever said “Time is money” wasn’t wrong; you just have to see how much any expert in their field charges for advice. Look at a lawyer, accountant, or internet marketer.
But it’s strange how most people tend to value other people’s time to the point of paying astronomical fees for advice, but seldom do they give their own time the importance it deserves. Now, a heard someone talking about the time the other day and something he said just stuck in my mind. He talked about what time means to different people. “How much does an hour mean to someone waiting for an organ transplant? How much does a minute mean to someone who missed the last train? How much does a tenth of a second mean to someone who got silver in the Olympics?” His examples were so real and I understood exactly what he meant.
So what does your time mean to you? Time can mean many things to many people, but what I want is to talk about time in the context of business, especially if you are starting an online retail business working from home. There’s no better way to make good use of your time and money than to find drop shippers to do the work for you. For those who don’t know what dropshipping is, it’s when your wholesale supplier sends the products directly to your customer for you, straight from their warehouse, one by one, according to your instructions. You pay the supplier the wholesale price and charge the customer the retail price. The difference between the two is your profit.
The great thing about dropshipping, or fulfillment, as some people call it, is that you don’t need to hold stock, nor do you need to tie up your capital in products that you’re not even sure will sell. You don’t have to worry about stock levels since you don’t hold any; and definitely no packing and running to the post office. Naturally, you’ll have to pay a bit more for the service, but it will be less than the costs involved in having a warehouse and paying employees. I still think it beats any other system. And you can put your time where it’s more important:
- You can focus on selling and bringing traffic to your site
- You can work on finding new niche markets
- You can have more free time for yourself
Remember: time is life! Don’t waste it by doing what others can do for you better and quicker. Find a good dropshipping retailer and you can focus on promoting your business. But beware of scammers as there are many out there saying they are wholesalers when they are really only middlemen.
